Darren Thompson leaned into his creativity to build a reclaimed woodworking business in the Sonoma Wine County, and a life he loves

Darren Thompson creates furniture and art from salvaged wood he finds in Sonoma County, CA, and counties throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. His art includes references to the bay area, pop culture, vintage designs, and even local business signs.

Salvaged wood art and furniture isn’t the actual story with Darren. There’s more. Darren is also a member of the ska and reggae rock band, The Tahoes. Darren’s story is about how this one-man business found his way into working for himself and how he centered his world with creativity.

Christopher spent the day with Darren in his shop, checking out his work and space, and getting to know his big story.
